Q: What is Wascal Script?
A: Wascal Script is a new web application development system based on Pascal Script.
Q: Does Wascal support PHP?
A: You can develop pure PHP using the Wascal IDE and/or you can intergrate PHP into Wascal Script applications.
Q: What else do I need to download?
A: The Wascal Installer includes Wascal Script, a Http Server, Wascal Script IDE and PHP. You will need to download MySQL if you need it.
Q: Can I upload Wascal Scripts to my website?
A: No. Wascal Scripts require the Wascal Server to execute. Hence, Wascal is suited to private network applications.
Q: Can I just code in PHP using the Wascal IDE?
A: Yes. If you only use PHP, then your PHP will be portable to your webhost.
Q: Can I run my Wascal Script(s) under Linux?
A: Not yet, but soon you will be able too.
Q: Can I run my Wascal Script(s) without the IDE running?
A: There is now a standalone console version of the Wascal Server located in the installed directory. (werve.exe)
Q: How do I run the server as a Windows service?
A: I use NSSM - the Non-Sucking Service Manager.
Q: What databases can I access via Wascal Script?
A: Wascal currently provides MySQL & PostgreSQL interfaces. You can use them as a starting point to write interfaces for any database supported by PHP or CGI. ie: Any database.
Q: What is Buzz PHP?
A: Buzz PHP is a PHP Class Library based on a serialized component model. You can use Buzz to write PHP applications in a totally object oriented fashion.
Q: I have a feature request/bug report. What do I do?
A: Contact me via the email on the contacts page. If you have some code which you would like added to the library, then, send it too. I can include raw Wascal Script files in the installer.
